![]() Data CentersPeters, Tschantz and Associates Inc. has been involved with Data Center designs for new construction, expansions, and renovations for decades. This long experience provides a unique perspective and understanding of the industry growth and trends. We have designed spaces that support server farms, healthcare operations and databases, industrial research and process control as well as national call centers for utility companies. Expansions and renovations often include carefully planned upgrades of existing mechanical and electrical system infrastructures that are phased, so as not to disrupt existing data processing operations. Our design engineers work closely with the client's managers, engineers, and information technology staff to provide the desired level of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) system redundancy and maintainability for all critical path equipment. We carefully apply all of the tools of reliable infrastructure, UPSs, generators, static switches, modularity, and N+1 redundancy, in building a solid environment for the data systems. Our firm is familiar with the high density nature of modern day server rack/equipment configurations. We utilize Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) computer software to model projected air flow throughout raised floor applications. Similar in some ways to the high reliability needs of healthcare, we cross-apply our knowledge of high reliability design and flexibility for future demands in all our efforts. With experience in a variety of data processing applications, our engineers work hard to provide quality design services that are specifically tailored for each individual project needs including budget.
