PTA Engineering has been involved with Data Center designs for new construction, expansions, and renovations.
Our extensive experience provides a unique perspective and understanding of industry growth and trends. We have designed spaces that support server farms, healthcare operations and databases, industrial research and process control as well as national call centers for commercial and utility companies.
Expansions and renovations often include carefully planned upgrades of existing mechanical and electrical system infrastructures that are phased, so as not to disrupt existing data processing operations.
Working Closely to Engineer Better Data Systems
Our design engineers work closely with the client's managers, engineers, and information technology staff to provide the desired level of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) system redundancy and maintainability for all critical path equipment. We carefully apply all of the tools of reliable infrastructure, UPSs, generators, static switches, modularity, and N+1 redundancy, in building a solid environment for the data systems.
Our firm is familiar with the high density nature of modern day server rack/equipment configurations. We utilize Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) computer software to model projected air flow throughout raised floor applications.
Similar in some ways to the high reliability needs of healthcare, we cross-apply our knowledge of high reliability design and flexibility for future demands in all our efforts. With experience in a variety of data processing applications, our engineers work hard to provide quality design services that are specifically tailored for each individual project needs including budget.
Accredited Data Center Designers
Additionally, Pat Klanac is an Accredited Tier Designer through the Uptime Institute. This accreditation enhances Pat’s robust data center design experience. Pat attended the inaugural Uptime Institute accredited tier designer three-day course, and after passing an intense exam, earned his accreditation.
