January 2010 - PTA is pleased to announce the recipients of two scholarships, Michael Shepard and Michael Prechel.  The Kucheman and Varvaro Scholarship for Electrical Engineering was awarded to Michael D. Shepard for the 2009/2010 school year.  Michael is an Electrical Engineering Sophomore at the University of Akron.  The Kucheman and Varvaro scholarship fund began in 1996 to acknowledge and honor Kent Kucheman and Joe Varvaro, University of Akron graduates of the class of 1949, who founded the Kucheman & Varvaro consulting engineering firm which now operates as Peters, Tschantz & Associates, Inc.  The Peters, Tschantz & Associates scholarship was awarded to Michael Prechel, also an Electrical Engineering Sophomore at the University of Akron.  Peters, Tschantz & Associates is proud of its long association with the University of Akron's Engineering College and is pleased to participate in the engineering scholarship program.  We congratulate both of these fine engineering students in their accomplishments.
