February 2010 - Dave Tschantz is the newest Board Member for the Akron District Society of Professional Engineers (ADSPE).  The Akron District is the Akron area's local member chapter for the Society of Professional Engineers, an engineering society with a National and State presence.  The professional engineers in this society support advocacy efforts, with respect to PE laws, in Washington, D.C., the State Capital in Columbus and in the local Courthouse.  In addition, the local chapter organizes and runs the annual MATHCOUNTS contest for area high school students.  The winners advance to the statewide and national competitions.  Other efforts in the community include coloring contest for second graders, college scholarships and science fair support.  An annual second grade coloring contest in the grade schools is also organized by the chapter. Click here http://www.acessinc.org/MembMemb-2365.html to learn more about this and other societies for engineers in the area.
