Originally constructed in 2001, this five-story, 95,000 square foot building located in downtown Akron is the new home to Akron Public Schools Administration Building. Beginning in 2018, the first and second floors underwent major renovations converting those floors to collaboration venues consisting of large multi-purpose rooms and meeting/conference rooms. The project also included restroom additions due to the assembly classification and Code requirements.
Mechanical scope included new single duct and fan-powered variable air volume (VAV) terminal units with hot water reheat coils, DDC controls, and associated duct distribution were included in the renovated areas. New supplemental DX cooling for the elevator machine room was also included in the project scope. Existing mechanical infrastructure was left unchanged. Electrical scope included new lighting and receptacles in the renovated areas, modifications to the existing fire alarm system, new UPS for existing data center, and converting the existing elevators to generator power.
