This project involved building a new branch library in Middleburg Heights on a greenfield site. The design team worked with the local municipality and the Cuyahoga County Public Library system to develop a design that would satisfy the requirements for both entities. The new, 15,000 square foot library includes a children’s area, a teen area, a youth program meeting room, several large meeting rooms, a computer lab, offices and various support spaces. This new library has an underflow air distribution system for thermal comfort and ventilation. The design also included LED lighting and specialized HVAC controls to save energy. This project was awarded LEED Silver in May of 2019.
