Fire Station No. 4 is a new, 2–story, 38,000 square foot facility that houses a ground-level fire station. Fire Station No. 4 services the Downtown Akron area. Included in the facility are new offices for the City of Akron Fire Administration (second floor) and space for county officials to deploy hazmat and other emergency services. The project was part of a Public-Private Partnership and delivered under a Design-Build model. A fast-track approach was implemented to release design packages for site/foundation, shell and interior fit-out. This shortened the delivery time to allow for the building to be enclosed before winter conditions resulted.
