This infrastructure upgrade project included replacing an old constant volume chilled water plant with a new variable chilled water plant. The chiller system was converted to utilize 30% propylene glycol solution for freeze protection, with new chilled water pumps, variable frequency drives, and piping accessories sized to accommodate the new chilling medium. The main AHU cooling coil was also replaced to accommodate the propylene glycol solution. In addition, the chiller plant controls were updated to electronic direct digital controls (DDC) to improve indoor thermal comfort and energy efficiency.  The project was delivered using the state term pricing schedule to accommodate all work.
