Office Campus

Chiller Upgrades

Project Details

This project consisted of the replacement of two 1,100 ton water cooled centrifugal chillers and associated pumps (chilled and condenser) that provide cooling for the company's main campus. The project also included modifications to the existing cooling towers to improve energy efficiency and a full plant controls upgrade. PTA provided design drawings that were generated by using Autodesk Revit (3D BIM Modeling Software). The primary chilled water pumps were replaced and fitted with variable frequency drives (VFD), allowing variable primary (vari-prime) pumping arrangements to maximize pump energy savings. The condenser water pumps were also replaced and fitted with variable frequency drives.
