Project Details
This project consisted of the consolidation of 3 facilities to 2. As part of the move, multiple engineering labs were relocated, including temperature and humidity (T&H) chambers, ESD and EMC chambers, life testing equipment, product investigation, vibration testing and research labs; all of which are part of Philips' Respironics Division, which manufactures products for the sleep and respiratory
markets. PTA assisted with up-front information gathering to determine MEP requirements of the lab equipment that was to be relocated and coordinated with facility infrastructure and its utilities. New, high efficiency, DX-packaged rooftop equipment (26-ton and 50-ton) was installed utilizing digital scroll compressors, dual supply and return fans for redundancy. All of this along with a parallel facility building automation system (BAS) replacement project, which was designed and managed by PTA, has resulted in precise temperature, humidity and space pressurization control.
