The design of the 277,000 square foot addition to the health center was completed in a phased manner. Early phases included an upgrade of the outdoor substation, temporary relocation of a portion of the Emergency Department, and site access revisions. The addition included a five-story tower, with the emergency department on the first floor, the ICU on the second floor, and three patient floors. A two-story underground parking garage is below the tower and a helipad is located on the roof. Each floor is designed with a dedicated air handling unit to allow isolation for infection control.
