This multi-phase project involved renovating 14,000 square feet and adding a 17,000 square foot surgery addition, which included 8 new operating rooms. The renovations allowed for 32 new patient rooms and 2 isolation rooms. PTA designed 3 new custom air handling units (2 of which were redundant) for a combined 135,000 CFM. Total cost of construction was $14 million ($6 million MEP). The project was designed and constructed in 3 phases so that the hospital could remain operational during construction. In order to accomplish this, PTA performed an intensive HVAC study to determine which systems could remain operational during each phase of construction.
