This project was a 141,000 square foot building addition that contains a 50,000 square foot data room area. Remaining building areas include the computer room support spaces, receiving dock, mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems and associated equipment rooms. This was a modular/scalable, two-level data center, with data hall planned above mechanical and electrical utility. Phase II included a new 2N 1,200 kW UPS system and associated electrical distribution, a new generator and associated day tank, and new chilled water computer room air handlers. Phase III included a new 2N 2,400 kW UPS system and associated electrical distribution, new chilled water computer room air handlers, a “close coupled” UPS cooling system, and an addition of the mechanical system UPS. Phase IV was comprised of a 2.4 MW power capacity expansion within the existing 141,000 square foot building, which contained the main function of an enterprise data center. The phased expansions followed the master plan closely and included facility enhancements realized from previously implemented phases of work. Phase I of the project achieved a LEED New Construction Gold Certification and a Tier III Design and Construction certification.
